UPG is South Florida’s first Climate Active organization — founded in 2008 to take on the causes and impacts of climate change. We don’t just talk about solutions; we build them. Every day, we mobilize communities to make South Florida a sustainable, resilient home for both people and wildlife through hands-on projects, smart policy, and bold innovation.

There is work to do, lives to protect, and ecosystems to restore right now and we’re not waiting. UPG is preparing young people to meet tomorrow’s climate challenges, healing the environmental damage left behind by past generations, and teaching the next generation how to build a more resilient future.

We enable the community through volunteer projects and education to make South Florida a better place to live for people and wildlife.

We are focused on building climate resilience, and Green Defenses for Biscayne Bay, and food security for low-income communities through our advocacy, projects and education.
