Give Miami Day is a fundraising event that aims to support the Miami-Dade community through these existing UF programs that deliver proven results for these residents each and every year:

•UF's Hialeah Dental Center ensures Miami-area adults and children have access to the dental care they need. More than 13,000 locals were treated at this clinic last year. This is one of the few adult Medicaid providers in the area.

•The UF/IFAS Tropical Research and Education Center (TREC) was established in 1929 on relatively undisturbed land. Since then, a primary mission has been the purposeful introduction and cultivation of new plant species. Some plants occur at TREC as collections or for research purposes, while others are found due to natural or accidental means of introduction.

•The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology is driving breakthroughs in human health, with scientists developing new approaches to fight neurodegenerative disorders, cancer, infectious diseases and other major health challenges. By combining cutting-edge research in chemistry, neuroscience, molecular medicine and immunology, the institute is advancing discoveries that bring hope for life-saving therapies.
