Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars

Machen Florida Opportunity Scholarship Program (MFOS) boldly reimagines the first-generation student experience by providing transformative access, comprehensive scholarships, and elite support programs. 

Together, we are changing the trajectories of students and their families’ ensuring that all of Florida’s brightest and most talented students will succeed in their lives and careers by earning degrees from the state’s premier university.

In order to be eligible for the MFOS scholarship, students must gain admission to the University of Florida through their own efforts and be enrolled as a first-time college freshman. Furthermore, neither of their parents should have earned a bachelor's degree, and their combined household income should be equal to or less than $55,000. 

There are currently 315 MFOS scholars enrolled at the University of Florida that hail from the Miami-Dade area, and 1,512 proud alumni.
