The Superstars Orchestra Parents Association (SOPA) is a committed group of parents dedicated to supporting the Southwood Middle School Orchestra Magnet Program. Led by Mrs. Vivian Ventura, 2026 Miami-Dade County Public Schools Teacher of the Year, this exceptional Orchestra program provides students with a comprehensive music education that emphasizes both classical and contemporary music. Students in the program receive rigorous training in orchestral performance, music theory, and composition, which equips them with the skills needed to excel in various musical genres.
SOPA plays a vital role in enhancing the musical experience of students by fostering a strong community among families, providing necessary resources, and organizing enriching events. The association works closely with the school to ensure that students have access to high-quality instruments, opportunities to perform at competitions and concerts, and exposure to professional musicians.
