Miami Poetry Club (MPC) is Miami’s multicultural literary home, dedicated to fostering the emergence of diverse voices. We provide inclusive, accessible writing education and events that amplify and enrich the lives of Miamians (and Beyond!) through the transformational power of writing and community.
Our Vision:
To establish Miami as a hub for literary arts where our diverse stories are celebrated, cultivated, and shared with the world.
Our guiding dream: a writer in every home.
Future:
To establish a permanent Writer’s House (Clubhouse) where we will host poetry club meetings, readings, workshops, and special events. It will also contain the largest poetry collection in southern Florida, where writers may come to write!Beat Culture Brewery: POETRY PLAYGROUND

Community Needs Addressed:
Miami is bursting with stories, yet too often its writers are underrepresented on national stages or face barriers to access if they happen to come from non-academic or underserved backgrounds. By making writing approachable, celebratory, and community-centered, we fill this gap—providing opportunities for self-expression, healing, and human connection while uplifting Miami as a known literary city with education impacting our city's cultural experiences.
Who We Serve:
We welcome established, emerging and writers who’ve never even considered themselves writers at all.
Our community reflects Miami itself: multigenerational, multicultural, multilingual, and diverse in socioeconomic background.
How We Reach Our Community:
Our core programing includes two no-cost workshops (Generative/Writer's Lab) hosted at The Dock in Wynwood and a performance event, Palms & Poetry Open Mic hosted at Books & Books in Coral Gables. We have dedicated these events to be completely free and offer a high value to all participants, with interactive programing, education, connection and fun!
(Poetry Playground, Advanced Writing Workshops & Collaborations, MPC Showcase, performance events)
Beyond this, MPC brings poetry and writing into public life through community partnerships, immersive events, and digital platforms. Whether at an art gallery, local film festival, pop up workshop, collaboration, or at a city event, we want to inspire Miamians from all walks of life have access to the joy and power of words. We aim to inspire our community members to create their own events, so we can uplift those too!
At Miami Poetry Club, we believe that perfection is the enemy of connection. Too often, people hold back their voices because they feel they need the “perfect” words. We are here to change that. We are solving the communication problem by giving Miamians the tools and confidence to share their stories in real time, in their own language, on their own terms.
For us, education is liberation—accessible, creative learning that empowers people of all ages and backgrounds to express themselves and connect with their communities. Through workshops, open mics, and collaborative events, we replace fear with freedom, silence with voice, and isolation with belonging. Our events are meant to celebrate—the diversity of our city, the joy of creativity, and the power of community. Every workshop, open mic, and gathering is both an invitation to write and a festival of voices, lifting up the stories that make Miami extraordinary.
Currently, we are 100% MPC leadership and community funded. Consider a monthly Donation and watch our city change!
