Florida Animal Rescue Alliance
A volunteer-run network saving Florida’s most vulnerable animals
Florida Animal Rescue Alliance (FARA) was created to bridge the gap for animals who often have nowhere else to turn. What began with the rescue of a single pig has grown into a statewide network supporting farmed animals, companion animals, and community animals through rescue, sanctuary partnerships, medical care, and compassionate action.
We are 100% volunteer-run, and every animal we help is cared for through the generosity of people like you.
Our Mission
FARA brings together rescuers, sanctuaries, fosters, and volunteers to create a statewide alliance that provides safety, medical care, and a path to a better life for animals in crisis. We focus on:
Emergency rescue & sanctuary support
Veterinary care and rehabilitation
Spay/neuter initiatives
Community education and compassion building
Volunteer mobilization and rescue coordination
Our Impact
With more than 40 sanctuary and rescue partners, caring foster homes, and committed volunteers across Florida, FARA has helped countless animals this year — including pigs, rabbits, cats, and many others who were abandoned, neglected, or in danger.
Your support makes these rescues possible.
Current Animal Needs
This season has brought an unusual surge in emergencies, including:
Seven piglets from a cruelty/hoarding case needing urgent spay/neuter before they reach mating age
Rabbits needing immediate spay surgeries to prevent reproductive cancers
A mother cat and her kittens whose medical care remains unpaid
We also still have many animals in foster who must be spayed and neutered before year-end to keep them healthy and prevent future suffering.
⚠URGENT: Our Medical Debt
Because of the high volume of emergency cases this year, we are currently carrying:
$4,995.68 in outstanding veterinary debt
This includes:
$2,230.68 remaining on our CareCredit account
$2,765.00 owed for the medical care of a mother cat and her kittens
Paying down this medical debt is critical so we can continue accepting animals and providing lifesaving care.
Why Your Support Matters
Every donation goes directly toward:
Paying down urgent medical balances
Funding spay/neuter surgeries
Covering emergency vet visits
Providing food, supplies, transport, and rehabilitation
Supporting foster homes and sanctuary partners
Your generosity today determines how many animals we can save tomorrow.
Together, We Save Lives
Your Give Miami Day gift helps us continue our mission, heal the animals in our care, and stay ready for the next animal who needs us.
Thank you for supporting Florida Animal Rescue Alliance and standing with us in compassion. We couldn’t do this without you!
