Who We Are

Florida Animal Rescue Alliance (FARA) was founded after the rescue of our first pig, which opened our eyes to the urgent need for a network connecting animal sanctuaries across Florida. Our mission is to build strong alliances with sanctuaries and animal protection groups, providing essential support, resources, and volunteer recruitment to meet their unique needs.

With over 30 sanctuaries in our network, FARA serves as a bridge between sanctuaries, communities, and individuals who are passionate about helping farm animals. Together, we are creating a compassionate and collaborative environment where farm animals can live with dignity and care, while fostering a sense of unity among those dedicated to animal protection.

What We Do

    •    Monthly Volunteer Events: We organize monthly volunteer events at sanctuaries across Florida, typically on weekends. These events allow community members to directly support the sanctuaries by tackling tasks like cleaning enclosures, repairing structures, feeding animals, and more. This gives sanctuary staff a much-needed break from their daily responsibilities, allowing them to recharge and focus on long-term planning.

    •    Community Engagement: We believe in engaging the local community by connecting them with nearby sanctuaries. Our goal is to raise awareness about the important work sanctuaries do and encourage ongoing support for these vital safe havens.

    •    Sanctuary Support: Whether it’s through direct volunteering, fundraising, or providing supplies, we’re committed to ensuring that the sanctuaries in our network have the help they need to care for rescued animals. From emergency projects to everyday upkeep, we aim to make a real difference.

    •    Raising Awareness: We actively spread awareness about the challenges farm sanctuaries face and the importance of animal rescue. By sharing their stories, we inspire others to get involved and advocate for farm animals.
