FARA began with the rescue of one pig, an experience that revealed how much animals depend on people and organizations working together. That single story grew into a volunteer-run animal welfare alliance connecting sanctuaries, rescues, advocates, and communities across Florida.
We help farm animals facing slaughter, neglect, and inhumane conditions while supporting the sanctuaries that offer them safety and lifelong care. Our network also assists companion and community animals in need.
Our Mission
To strengthen animal protection across Florida through collaboration, advocacy, education, and shared resources. We bring people and organizations together to help animals receive compassionate care and find safe, appropriate placements.
What We Do
Coordinate Animal Assistance
Our team helps organize rescue efforts, transportation, veterinary care, and placements for animals facing abandonment, neglect, or other unsafe conditions.
Mobilize Volunteers
We organize volunteer opportunities and connect compassionate people with hands-on ways to help, including sanctuary service days, transport, fostering, and community outreach.
Build Compassion Through Education
We engage youth, families, and community members in learning about animal welfare, responsible care, and the needs of rescued animals.
Advocate for Animals
We raise awareness of cruelty and neglect, promote responsible sanctuary practices, and support stronger protections for animals.
