For the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of being connected to Healthy Mind, Heart, and Body, Inc., an organization that reminds me what it truly means to show up for a community. Their work is about so much more than health fairs or distributing resources. It’s about giving children a healthier start, helping seniors maintain their independence, and making sure that access to health education and essential services isn’t determined by someone’s financial circumstances.
Every year, HMHB helps thousands of children prepare for the school year by providing backpacks, school supplies, health screenings, and connections to resources their families may otherwise struggle to access. For some families, these events mean more than checking items off a back-to-school list. They mean a child can walk into the classroom feeling prepared, supported, and ready to learn.
But HMHB’s care doesn’t stop with children. Through senior health and resource fairs, hundreds of older adults receive examinations, health education, and connections to services that help them continue living longer, healthier, and more independent lives. Behind every screening is a person whose health matters. Behind every resource is a family that may feel a little less alone. And behind every act of service is a reminder that everyone deserves the opportunity to live with dignity and well-being.
That is why I’m asking you to join me in supporting them this Give Miami Day.
I believe that where we live, how much we earn, or what stage of life we’re in should never determine whether we have access to the resources we need to be healthy. Every child deserves a healthy beginning. Every senior deserves care, support, and the opportunity to thrive. Every family deserves to know that their community has not forgotten them.
Your donation can help HMHB continue bringing people together, connecting families with essential services, educating young people about lifelong healthy habits, and giving seniors access to resources that can make a meaningful difference in their lives.
You don’t have to change the whole world to change someone’s world. Sometimes, it starts with a backpack, a health screening, a conversation, or simply making sure someone knows where to turn for help.
