What would you do with a bottle of soda, a pack of popping candy and a balloon? Ask the kids at our science day with The Dennis Project, and they'll tell you: you make a gas, and you watch the balloon grow all by itself.

We are Sigma Zeta, Gamma Rho Chapter, the STEM honor society at Miami Dade College's Padrón Campus. Our members are future scientists, engineers, nurses and programmers, and we believe the best way to grow as STEM students is to share what we're learning with our community.

Why it matters. Kids who get to do science, not just read about it, are more likely to see themselves as scientists. TDP was named for Amelia Dennis, a Miami teacher who spent her career in underserved schools, and it carries on her belief that every child deserves a real chance to learn.

What your gift does. We're raising $1,000 for The Dennis Project this Give Miami Day. Every dollar goes to TDP's free STEM workshops: lab supplies, workshop materials and hands-on projects that kids build and take home.

Thank you for helping make science hands-on, fun and open to every child in Miami.

With gratitude, The Sigma Zeta, Gamma Rho Chapter e-board.
