Rachel Abelenda for STYX The Company

Hi! My name is Rachel Abelenda, and I’ve been a part of STYX The Company since it first began in 2022. Joining STYX at 20 years old has truly been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. From the very beginning, STYX has been so much more than just a contemporary dance company — it’s been a home. A space where I’ve grown as an artist, a person, and a leader.

Over the years, I’ve gotten to step into different creative roles — from helping manage our social media and designing merch for the past three years, to choreographing and performing in projects that challenge and inspire me. I also serve as the Head of HR, where I help keep our environment fun, creative, and supportive. Building real relationships with my teammates and directors means everything to me — it’s what keeps us connected and moving forward together as one.

Being part of STYX has shaped me in ways I’ll never forget. Supporting STYX The Company this Give Miami Day means helping artists like me continue to create, grow, and give back to our community through movement and connection.
