Help Us Bring French History to Life for Carver Students!

We are thrilled to be organizing a unique educational and cultural experience for French IE and IS students at Carver during school hours! With your support, we hope to bring a dynamic, interactive show specially designed for our young French-speaking and French-learning audiences.

Blending theater, music, and direct student engagement, the show features the fictional and delightfully eccentric director of the Museum of French History, Bernadette Coincarde. With humor and energy, Bernadette whisks students away on a fascinating journey through one of the most intriguing periods in French history: the late 18th century, as seen through the life and legacy of Marie-Antoinette, Queen of France.

More than just a controversial queen, Marie-Antoinette was a trendsetter, a cultural icon, and a symbol of her times. Through Bernadette’s telling and prompts, students will discover how history, fashion, power, and art intertwined, and how these forces continue to shape our world today. They'll be encouraged to draw connections between this iconic historical figure and influencers, trends, and cultural movements of the present.

This show is more than a performance: it's a participatory adventure. With interactive segments, games, and storytelling, students are invited to become active players in history. It's educational, engaging, and fun!

The performance was presented at Carver Middle School several years ago to great acclaim and enthusiasm. It is specially adapted to suit both bilingual students and beginners in French, ensuring accessibility and enjoyment for all.

Why We Need Your Help:

Given the students’ different schedules, the number of performances we can hold directly depends on the funds we raise. The more support we receive, the more shows we can produce — and the more students will be able to experience this vibrant and enriching cultural moment.

Let’s bring history alive — with laughter, learning, and a touch of French flair!

Merci beaucoup!
