Jade Mesa for STYX The Company

My name is Jade Mesa, and I have been part of STYX The Company since it was founded in 2022, and it’s been a truly transformative journey. From the very beginning, STYX has been more than just a contemporary dance company - it’s been a home and a space where I’ve grown as both an artist and a leader. Together, we’ve performed in countless shows, shared our love of movement through community classes, traveled to share our work out of state, and even hosted our own open style battles.

Through STYX, I’ve had incredible opportunities to step into new roles, such as choreographing pieces that reflect my voice and serving as Rehearsal Director for the past 2 years. But beyond the creative growth, what means the most to me is the people I get to dance with. This company has impacted me not just as an artist, but as a person. I’ve built deep relationships, learned how to collaborate with trust, and felt supported in ways that have shaped who I am. 

Supporting STYX means helping artist like me continue to grow, create, and share our passion with the world and most importantly our local community.
