Florida Health Justice Project (FHJP) operates at the vital crossroads of healthcare access and legal advocacy, serving as a crucial lifeline for Florida's most vulnerable populations navigating an increasingly complex and fragile healthcare system. In a state that has not expanded Medicaid and where millions face barriers to affordable coverage, FHJP provides education, personalized navigation support, and systemic advocacy that turn abstract health insurance policies into real access to care. Our work directly promotes health equity by empowering low-income families, pregnant women, individuals with chronic conditions, and communities of color with the knowledge and tools to secure their rights to healthcare coverage and services. Through community education, individualized legal guidance, and policy advocacy informed by the actual barriers our clients face daily, FHJP not only helps individuals obtain and keep coverage but also works to dismantle the systemic obstacles that sustain health disparities across Florida. Every workshop held, every family assisted with Medicaid enrollment, and every policy recommendation made signifies a step toward a more equitable healthcare system where zip code, income, and immigration status no longer determine whether Floridians can access the care they need to survive and thrive.

As the Grants Manager/Development Associate for FHJP, I see firsthand the impact of your donation. Donations to FHJP directly translate into pregnant mothers receiving guidance on maintaining prenatal care, families with chronic conditions learning how to access community health centers, and vulnerable Floridians gaining the knowledge and advocacy support needed to survive a healthcare crisis not of their making. During these unprecedented times, please consider donating to FHJP this Give Miami Day, November 20th, to help us continue providing services to our fellow Floridians.

Thanks and be well,

Maria
