The Caring Place @ Miami Rescue Mission – Covered Girlfriends Volunteer Focus Group

At The Caring Place @ Miami Rescue Mission, the Covered Girlfriends Volunteer Focus Group stands united under one purpose, to bring Compassion, Empowerment, and Restoration to women and children overcoming domestic violence, abuse, and homelessness in our Miami and Broward Centers.

Our Mission

These remarkable women work hand in hand to provide safe housing and empowering support, helping families rebuild their lives and thrive.

Safe and Affordable Housing

The group raises funds to purchase, remodel, and maintain safe, affordable homes for women and children who have completed our Life-Changing Programs. Each graduate is celebrated with a Housewarming Party and receives essential household items to begin their new chapter with dignity and hope.

Thanks to their dedication, two housing projects—a triplex and a four-plex—have already been secured. The four-plex is currently being remodeled into beautiful, fully furnished homes that provide safety, stability, and comfort.

Nurturing and Empowerment

Covered Girlfriends also mentor and uplift women and children through one-on-one guidance, meaningful activities, and special events. Their compassion creates a nurturing environment where residents can heal, gain confidence, and rediscover their purpose.

Ways to Give:

• $25 – Helps cover 10% of utilities (water/electric) for a housing unit
• $35 – Helps cover 10% of program fees for a single woman
• $65 – Helps cover 20% of program fees for a single woman
• $105 – Helps cover 25% of program fees for a formerly homeless family
• Custom Gifts – Support remodeling and furnishing efforts (kitchens, bedrooms, living areas) to create comfortable, dignified homes

Our Goal

To raise $20,000 to continue providing homes, hope, and healing for women and children escaping abuse and homelessness.
