Hi everyone! I truly feel it's my life purpose to always lead with integrity, compassion, and courage in working towards improving communities so that everyone can live healthy and thrive.
I serve as the Director of Healthy Streets and Public Spaces at Urban Health Partnerships.
Our communities face a multitude of built environment challenges that result in poorer health outcomes and diminished sense of belonging for many. Everyone deserves an environment that can allow them to live healthy lives where they can not just survive, but thrive.
In our work addressing the challenges of the built environment and its health impacts, we integrate community members on work that can:
- Enhance transit systems for increased access to healthy foods, healthcare, jobs, and community resources
- Reduce high rates of crashes involving pedestrians and bicyclists, particularly in communities with low vehicle ownership and high transit ridership
- Improve physical and mental health outcomes through improved parks facilities and programming and increased access to green spaces
- Facilitate collaborations with partners to support emotional well-being by protecting and creating opportunities for social connection in public spaces
- Use creative solutions to reduce extreme heat and improve tree shade coverage in South Florida
My career has been devoted to changing our world towards a better quality of life for every member of a community.
Your support would be helping us continue to work towards policy, systems, and environmental changes that can protect and enhance our public spaces to improve health outcomes for all community members.
