What is CANTO?
CANTO, or the Classical Arts Network for Training and Outreach, is FGO's emerging artist program that focuses on helping homegrown operatic talent on their way towards a professional performing career. Through CANTO, singers who live, work, and study in South Florida are given the opportunity to perform with FGO in education events, outreach initiatives, and private concerts. This invaluable experience helps these singers make the difficult leap into the professional music industry by providing performance opportunities, voice and performance coaching from FGO's music staff, and networking opportunities for each singer.
Through CANTO, FGO aims to give back to the Miami arts community and is committed to helping local Miami singers make it in the opera world. FGO has benefitted greatly from the vibrancy and diversity of our South Florida home, and we wish to share this gift to the rest of the opera world through the brilliance of the next generation of singers from our own community.
