AVUS Connect is an Intergenerational Volunteer Program that is dedicated to reducing loneliness and isolation for older adults and disabled adults in Miami-Dade County.
AVUS Connect volunteers are high school and college students. They promote outreach to older adults and disabled adults who are typically homebound and isolated through phone calls, video chats, writing holiday cards, delivering hurricane preparedness meal kits, and home visits. Volunteers also support United HomeCare at local events, including the Walk to End Alzheimer's and the Claude Pepper Awards Luncheon.
