As the largest nonprofit organization serving Miami-Dade County's older and/or disabled adults and their family caregivers, United HomeCare sees firsthand how great and diverse their unmet needs are. Helping our community's most vulnerable who are often experiencing isolation, loneliness, Alzheimer's disease, chronic diseases, disabilities, dementia, and physical ailments to have a better quality of living in their own homes is why we exist.
According to The Giving USA Foundation, there are few organizations serving Americans 65 or older, a population estimated to grow to 98.2 million by 2060. While most of our clients qualify for services under aging and healthcare programs, we frequently encounter personal needs not covered by those programs. It is here that community philanthropy plays a vital role.
One in seven seniors in Miami-Dade County must choose between rent, food, clothing or medication. It is our undertaking to ensure that seniors remain independent, age in place at home, are not isolated with depression, do not have to go to bed hungry, and have the means necessary to receive vital medication.
For over 50 years, we have delivered proven quality of life and continuum of care solutions contributing to stronger recovery and greater independence, all at a much lower cost than institutional care. Our care management and in-home home health care services provide a comprehensive range of in-home services including personal care, consumable medical supplies, caregiver support and mental health counseling, nutrition education and counseling, home delivered meals, medical equipment, and telephone reassurance.
Our services are a lifeline to those in need. Join us to continue to be their lifeline. Your Give Miami Day donation will immediately be used to help frail, elderly adults in dire need of extra services or those who are on our waitlist for service funding approval.
Everyone deserves to live their entire life with independence, dignity, and respect. Just like us, our elderly have had careers and worked hard for many years in their life's journey.
Don't forget, they are Miami too! Donate today.
United HomeCare's mission is "To make a difference in the lives of individuals by offering community-based health care solutions that promote independence and wellness." Delivery of compassionate care is our philosophy and way of life. Donate today to give the gift of independence and dignity to a deserving senior.
