Engage Miami is an investment in our future

Democracy isn’t guaranteed, every generation must fight for it in their own way. In Miami, young people are fighting for it every day. Engage Miami turns 10 this year. In just a decade, it has grown into the largest youth voter registration program in Florida and recently ran the largest get-out-the-vote program in the City of Miami elections. 

But Engage is more than turnout, it’s training a generation of civic leaders who are stepping up in a moment when democracy is under real threat. Young people want to shape their future. They care about housing, justice, climate, and dignity. But too often, the system isn’t built for them or by them. Engage Miami is a part of changing that. It provides the tools, training, and platforms young people need to participate meaningfully, organize their communities, and lead with purpose. 

As democracy faces its most serious challenges in a generation and as national funders pull back, Engage Miami is rising to meet the moment. With investment and support, they can do more than just vote, they can transform the future of this city and this state. The first 10 years proved what’s possible. The next 10 years will determine what’s at stake. Let’s invest in youth power and protect our democracy together.
