A Healthy Family is My Why

For the last 9 years, UHP has given me the privilege of taking action on the issues that shape people’s everyday lives—access to food, transportation, quality parks, and healthcare. Imagine the world we’d live in if everyone had the resources they need to be healthy and reach their potential.

In a time when so much feels divided and it’s easy to feel helpless, I’m grateful that every day I get to show up with a team that is creating real change.

Eight days after having my son, Liam, I experienced a ‘widow-maker’ heart attack caused by a spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD). I survived because I had access to the right doctors, information, and care. That experience, along with becoming a mom, only deepened my commitment to fight for health—my own, my family’s, and our community’s.
