Kindness Matters

Kindness is a skill. We teach it.

The Need
Students today are navigating stress, anxiety, social pressures, and challenges that can affect how they see themselves, relate to others, and engage in their school communities. At the same time, educators are being asked to support students' emotional and social needs while managing the demands of their own classrooms. Schools need practical, accessible tools that help both students and the adults who support them build resilience, emotional awareness, empathy, and connection.

Who We Are
Kindness Matters is a nonprofit dedicated to teaching kindness as an essential life skill. We believe kindness is not simply something people are born with or a single act they perform. It is a skill that can be learned, practiced, and strengthened.

What We Do
We partner with schools to equip students and educators with practical skills that support emotional well being, resilience, empathy, confidence, and healthy relationships. Through student assemblies, Kindness Clubs, educator trainings, workshops, and school wide initiatives, we help make kindness part of everyday school culture.

How We Create Impact
Our approach goes beyond reaching students one program at a time. By supporting educators alongside students, we help embed kindness into the culture of an entire school community. We also bring these skills beyond the classroom through community events, service opportunities, Kindness Alliance, Kindness at Work, and Kindness International.

The Impact
In FY2025–2026, Kindness Matters reached 9,000+ students, trained 450+ educators, and supported 25+ Kindness Clubs.  Among educators surveyed, 92% said their training deepened their understanding of how kindness supports student mental health, and 85% reported an increased understanding of social emotional learning and its role in the classroom. 

We believe that when people have the tools to understand themselves, care for others, and navigate challenges with resilience and compassion, the impact extends far beyond one classroom. It creates a ripple effect from self, to others, to the world.
