In September of 2022, after 25 years of serving women leaders, we re-branded from The Commonwealth Institute to The Women's Edge. Although our name has changed, our vision remains clear: to drive a competitive, creative and leading edge for women. We are dedicated to mentoring, partnering and leading high-impact women in the State of Florida.
The cornerstone of our approach is peer-to-peer mentoring in a confidential, small group atmosphere called forums. TWE also raises money to provide scholarships for emerging women business owners and executive directors of non-profits.
TWE supports members' leadership efforts, gives them an opportunity to share in each other's networks and provides a path for success through collaborative business relationships. The organization is "community-based" and the programs and events are varied, motivational and unique- always focused on helping participants develop personally and professionally.
Since its inception, TWE has worked with hundreds of women-led companies. TWE currently has more than 200 members whose companies have annual revenues ranging from $100,000 to more than $4 billion. TWE has chapters in Florida and Massachusetts.
Our top signature event is Leadership Live. This annual event draws 200+ women CEOs and Senior Executives. Our second highest profile event is our Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Florida Luncheon where we release the list of Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in the State and recognize those businesses that are leading in revenue, customer service and innovation. We offer several levels of membership, including general membership, forum membership and Top 100 membership. Our leadership development program, Strategies for Success, is available to women leaders throughout the State and currently boasts more than 1,500 graduates of which 76% reported a promotion after departing the program.
In addition to leadership training programs and events, we help women leaders through our Annual Women's Leadership Impact Study. The goal of our Women’s Leadership Impact Study is to expose barriers and catalyze progress in women’s leadership, focusing on the development, retention and advancement of women in companies across the state. This study and subsequent roundtable sessions aim to identify best practices for a creating equitable business structures.
