South Florida People of Color brings neighbors together to confront racism, protect historical truth, and turn understanding into action through dialogue, public history and the arts.
In 2027, Florida's new limits on public support for equity work take effect. That makes community-funded work like ours more urgent than ever.
For more than 10 years, South Florida People of Color has done this work by bringing people together, not by avoiding hard truths. Our programs ask participants to face history, name racism, including systemic racism, and build relationships that last beyond a single evening:
Awkward Dinners: honest conversations over a shared meal
Keeping It Civil: civic dialogue that connects people across political and racial lines
Redline Historical Tours: a look at Miami's history of segregation and resilience, from Overtown to Virginia Key Beach
Unity360 Institute: training that builds inclusive workplaces
Our work centers Black, Indigenous and other communities of color. It also belongs to neighbors of every race who believe this history matters and want to help write what comes next.
Your gift keeps these conversations going in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. Our history is not disposable. Our future deserves more than silence.
Fund the work.
