Planned Parenthood of Florida (PPFL) is a passionate and tireless advocate for reproductive health, including safe and legal abortion. Many of the patients we serve are among those who have historically faced barriers to quality health care: people of color, people who live in rural, geographically, and linguistically isolated areas, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with low incomes, and those without health insurance. All 17 of our health centers across the 67 counties of Florida we serve are proud to offer high-quality, affordable sexual and reproductive health care, including breast and cervical cancer screenings, contraception including vasectomy care, STI testing and treatment, gender-affirming care, prenatal care, basic infertility, sexual dysfunction care, virtual mental health services and abortion care.

PPFL recognizes the critical role of comprehensive sexuality education in reducing the rate of unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV. We deliver comprehensive and medically accurate information that empowers people of all ages to make informed decisions and lead healthy lives. To accomplish this, we use the most sophisticated instrument in medicine: accurate information through our various programs. Our innovative health education and teen outreach programs teach young people how to make healthy decisions and train teachers, parents, and caregivers how to have honest, open discussions with the young people in their lives.

In May 2024, Florida’s six-week abortion ban went into effect, making our state one of the most restrictive in the country when it comes to abortion care. Though we’ve prepared for this near-total ban, nothing can adequately prepare the 3.9 million Floridians of reproductive age for their loss of abortion access. A clear majority of Florida voters want lawmakers to repeal the abortion ban, reaffirming what we’ve known all along: that our communities believe in personal freedom, trusting women and their doctors to make their own healthcare decisions, including when it comes to abortion.

Our vision is to create a world where reproductive rights are basic human rights, where access to health care does not depend upon who you are, where you live, or who you love, and where every person is empowered to choose their own path to a healthy and meaningful life.
