Media for Change is a Miami based nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting storytellers and other creators to effective social transformation efforts. In a shift of strategy in 2025, the organization now engages with entrepreneurial transmedia storytelling. We are engaged in building globally connected communities of storytellers to explore and address contemporary subjects.
Our current projects are:
I. One Water Ocean:Building upon the success of the documentary project One Water (2007) that continues to engage audiences across the globe, One Water Ocean shifts the focus from the world's fresh water to our oceans. We are working with an international editorial team and 5 schools in the U.S., Mexico and India to involve middle and high schoolers with oceans through research, art, and storytelling. Launched in September 2024, we expect to add more schools internationally over time. Our overall goal is kindling awe and wonder for our oceans. More information can be found at onewater.org
II. Feasting Asia: Launched in the fall of 2025, Feasting Asia focuses on sharing the history of Asian Americans through the lens of food. Learn about our current newsletter here.
III WITH Festivals: Through our WITH Festivals around the globe, we celebrate the work of impact storytellers. Currently our commitment, for the foreseeable future, is to highlight indigenous stories and storytellers - particularly in the U.S., Brazil, India and Ecuador.
Our organization is run by a voluntary board of directors.
