Miami Diaper Bank

Miami Diaper Bank - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Miami, dedicated to collecting and distributing clean diapers and other baby essentials to low-income families and disadvantaged children.

History & Background

According to the National Diaper Bank Network, nearly half of U.S. families reported diaper need in 2024. Without an adequate supply of diapers, 68,500 families with children under the age of 3 in Miami-Dade, may be forced to delay diaper changes or to reuse soiled diapers which causes diaper-related illnesses such as diaper rash, urinary tract infection.

While Miami Diaper Bank remains the ONLY diaper bank in Miami-Dade, we are a vital resource for organizations and families across South Florida with diaper need. Over the last ten years, we have become the largest diaper bank in the region serving four counties in South Florida including Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe, and Palm Beach, with a service area that spans over 6,600 square miles. Over half of our services are dedicated to families in Miami-Dade where our headquarters are located.

Since it's inception, Miami Diaper Bank has connected over 11 million diapers and baby essentials to 210,000 babies and families who are homeless, in crisis, living in poverty, struggling to secure affordable childcare, in response to emergency need, and when national crisis or natural disaster strikes.

However, for the first time, we have localized data showing the urgent need here in Miami-Dade County:

• 68,500 children under age 3 are at risk of diaper need

Currently, with support this Give Miami Day 2025, we can meet 25% of this need in 2025 and continue to close the gap in 2026.
