If nothing else, everyone deserves the basics.

Too many families and seniors in South Dade are forced to choose between keeping the lights on, paying medical bills, and putting food on the table. Basic Needs Miami believes that the basics should never be a luxury.

Through our Neighborhood Needs Network, we partner directly with local schools, community organizations, and senior groups to bridge this gap. We supply our trusted partners with Basics Bags filled with nutritious groceries and essential items, ensuring aid gets directly into the hands of the families and seniors who need it most.

Our Impact on the Ground

We go beyond drop-offs by showing up where our community gathers. During a recent pop-up with the Town of Cutler Bay Active Adult Program, a senior participant shared that our bags arrived "just on time." Calling the visit "an act of kindness and support," she asked us one simple thing: "Please come back again."

In 2025, our first-year impact reached across South Dade:

We distributed more than 200 full Basics Bags of groceries.

We provided more than 2,300 diapers to families with young children.

We served neighborhoods including Goulds, Florida City, Cutler Bay, Homestead, and Richmond Heights.

This school year, our network welcomed new partners including BioTECH @ Richmond Heights 6-12 Academy, Florida City Elementary, Coral Reef Montessori Academy, the Greater Goulds Optimist Club, and senior groups in Cutler Bay and Goulds.
