Zoo Miami Foundation (ZMF), formerly Zoological Society of Florida, is the non-profit support organization for Zoo Miami Founded in 1956. We are dedicated to sustaining Zoo Miami through membership and education programs, conservation and strategic philanthropic initiatives.


Our education programs include a volunteer core of more than 400 youth and adult volunteers that contribute 50,000 hours and engage nearly half a million people annually. Throughout the years, Zoo Miami Foundation has also been a key driver of getting our community involved with nature and conservation through exciting opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.


With over 50 years of success working with Zoo Miami and the South Florida community, Zoo Miami Foundation strives for performance excellence, enriching our members experience at the Zoo, connecting with our community through education and conservation and stewardship of our donors.

Mission

The Zoo Miami Foundation [ZMF] is the 501 (c) (3) non-profit support organization for Zoo Miami. ZMF's mission is to foster community pride and involvement with Zoo Miami and secure financial support for the Zoo. Its main goal is to ensure the sustainability of Zoo Miami as a key cultural institution with over $500 million dollars in economic impact and which directly contributes to nearly 6,000 jobs. Zoo Miami is vital both economically and socially and is one of the largest green spaces in South Florida that enhances the quality of life for all visitors.
