Who are the BG Singers?

The BG Singers are a community choir that was formed 28 years ago as a program of the Buffalo Grove Park District in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.  Director, Linda Rosen, put out a press release asking for interested singers with hopes of 25 attending... 65 people showed up and the rest is history!  The choir performs an annual concert every September featuring a live band and fully staged, choreographed and costumed numbers.  The choir averages 70 - 75 singers from season to season.

The BG Singers, often called, “the chorus that cares” is a very philanthropic group that participates in various charitable endeavors.  They have run campaigns to raise money for Pediatric Children's Cancer and the Make a Wish Foundation. They also work with “Feed My Starving Children” and do an annual “fill a backpack” program for local children needing assistance. They have donated a defibrillator to the Buffalo Grove police department and musical instruments to victims of Hurricane Katrina.  Of course, all of these philanthropic activities are optional, but almost the entire choir gets involved and enjoys the camaraderie and hard work that goes into serving the community.

Why donate to the Ukulele Kids Club?

In doing research to find an organization that used music as a tool for therapy, the UKC was selected because we felt we could do the most for children with the incredible resources that Corey and the UKC have created.
