Mario's Champion's Page for Miami Habitat!

Dear Friends,

As you all know, I have been spearheading Habitat for Humanity for the last 15 years.  In that time, you have heard me brag about our achievements,  worry about our challenges, and celebrate the many families who would have never achieved their dream of homeownership were it not for Habitat.  This job has been the most rewarding of my career, and there is nothing that I would rather be doing.   

            

One of our Habitat owners once took me aside and said “ Mr. Mario, in a lifetime of hearing no, Habitat said yes, and now I have a home where my children can feel safe and thrive. That is all I ever wanted”. 

These moments are a great reminder that the work we do matters; that the impact of homeownership is not a short-term victory, but a lifetime achievement.

       

 

Miami faces many challenges, with housing affordability being among the most pressing. Habitat addresses this by providing hard-working families an opportunity to build and purchase a home with a Habitat-provided zero percent mortgage. It is a simple model, but one that works, and close to 1,200 Miami-Dade families have already achieved this goal.
