I grew up in a Cuban-American home where storytelling was woven into everything: music from the kitchen, chisme mixed with nostalgia, and family histories shared like treasured heirlooms. But even with such a rich cultural world around me, I rarely saw those stories reflected onstage. I didn’t see our voices centered, our humor celebrated, or our complexities explored with depth.

That’s why Latiné Theater Lab feels like home.

LTL is creating the kind of theater I always wished existed—bold, experimental, and unapologetically rooted in Latiné identity. Their work doesn’t just feature our stories; it honors them. It gives space for local artists, especially Latiné and BIPOC creatives, to take risks, be seen, and shape the narrative on their own terms.

Every LTL production feels like a mirror, reflecting the resilience, joy, contradictions, and cultural richness that define our communities. It reminds me of my family, of the stories that raised me, and of how powerful it is to finally see our experiences centered on South Florida’s stages.
