Jeani and I didn’t begin by founding a nonprofit. We started with a physical space called Warehouse 4726 back in 2017. What began as a dream quickly grew into a thriving community, fueled by our simple belief that Miami’s artists deserved a welcoming place to share their work, connect with neighbors, and sustain their creative drive.
Then, in 2022, we partnered with the InterContinental Miami and Noche de Arte was born in the hotel lobby. It began before collaboARTive, and it grew through partnerships and a lot of love. Early on, the GMCVB (Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau) helped us get it off the ground. The Downtown Development Authority helped too. Later, support from the county and the state allowed the program to become more consistent and sustainable.
Over time, Noche de Arte grew and it became a true gallery experience - not just an exhibition in the lobby. Every Monday at Gallery 100 at the InterContinental Miami, local artists, neighbors, and visitors come together through art and conversation. It’s not a gala. It’s not exclusive. It’s a steady, welcoming place where art creates connection.
Noche de Arte is also a place where many voices are held up - Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Pride Month, and the Haitian community, among others. We care about representation because we care about people. We want artists to be seen, to be heard, and to share how innovative and creative this city truly is - especially with the visitors who pass through downtown Miami.
Around that same time (2022), we became a nonprofit because it became clear we couldn’t keep carrying the program ourselves. We needed a structure that could actually support the work long-term.
Right now, collaboARTive needs to replace the $20,000 we typically received from the state.
So this Give Miami Day — Thursday, November 19, 2026 — I’m asking for help.
collaboARTives goal is $20,000 but my goal as a founder and board member is 20 donors (minimum gift $25) and $1,000+. These goals are attainable and every gift helps us replace the funding gap and keep Noche de Arte going.
Your donation supports the program itself — including:
Stipends for the artists who exhibit
The work that keeps the program consistent, welcoming, and free
Paying the people we hire to make the events possible
We do this because we love it — and because we believe a nonprofit arts community should be able to keep showing up for Miami.
If you can’t give right now, please share this page with someone who cares about local artists. That simple act helps more than you might think.
Thanks for your time and attention.
Stay creative and we will see you on Monday night,
Iggy Font
