Dear Friends and Supporters,

For nearly twenty years, I have fostered an unwavering passion for the advancement and equality of women and girls. In 2020, I joined the Women’s Fund Miami-Dade (WFMD) to help tackle the most urgent needs of women and girls in my community and secure a Miami-Dade that is not limited by gender.

This year, we've embarked on monumental initiatives that tackle the most pressing issues affecting women and girls! From amplifying stories about the impact of restricted abortion access and educating our community on human trafficking recruitment trends to launching the groundbreaking Gender Equity Index, our efforts have been nothing short of bold and impactful.

Our unwavering dedication has also enabled us to secure earmark funding for studying the effects of gun violence on women and girls and support early learning education, among other significant initiatives.

This work is a testament to the unity and support of our community and partners. I am deeply grateful for the numerous collective discussions held with our stakeholders, who hold us accountable for achieving actionable metrics. I extend my sincere appreciation to our dedicated staff for executing the vision of our diverse board of directors and to our partners for recognizing our data and advancing efforts toward a more equitable Miami-Dade.

As we reflect on our accomplishments, we celebrate the significant progress made while recognizing the areas that still require our attention. Our ongoing partnerships with donors and community alliances have been instrumental in driving our mission forward. We remain committed to these collaborations, understanding that their continued support and engagement are crucial to addressing the challenges ahead.

It's been a privilege to serve my hometown with your support and contributions. Together, we've paved the way for my daughter and future generations to follow in our footsteps, building a world where every woman and girl can rise to leadership, achieve equal opportunity, access equitable healthcare, and live free from violence.
