Since 2012, Coach Robert and

I have expertly led the Kotzen Aquatic Center at the Miami Beach JCC, sharing our unique learn-to-swim methodology with our community. Amazingly, we have taught over one million swim lessons — from babies as young as 3 months to adults in their 80s — empowering each swimmer to experience confidence, joy, and safety in the water.

We are proud that through our program, Swim Gym swimmers become safer, stronger, and more able in both pool and ocean environments. Many of our students have gone on to compete successfully, while all have developed a lifelong respect and love for the water.

Together, we have built a community that values water safety, growth, and perseverance and we are most proud of our record of zero drownings in our community.

Now, we are asking for your help!

The Kotzen Aquatics Center is in need of repairs, upgrades, and a beautification facelift of the Gumenick Pool Deck which will cost the MBJCC $400,000, a cost that is above and beyond its operational budget.

We are launching the Making Waves Campaign this Give Miami Day!

Your donation will go directly towards fulfilling our mission to:

  • Provide a safe and inspiring place for everyone to learn and grow in the water
  • Reduce and prevent drownings through education and access
  • Ensure that every child and adult becomes water-wise — confident and capable in and around the water

Every contribution makes a splash in our community!

Thank you for being part of our Swim Gym family at the MBJCC. Your generosity helps us continue teaching, inspiring, and saving lives — one swimmer at a time.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Coach Robert & Jennie Swim Gym at the Miami Beach JCC
