The Way Forward Foundation has played a huge role in my own journey as a para-athlete. Living with a spinal cord injury comes with challenges, but it also comes with incredible opportunities, and The Way Forward has been one of the organizations that continues to open those doors for me.
This foundation has supported me directly, including helping me race the Miami Marathon, an experience that pushed me, inspired me, and reminded me of what’s possible with the right support behind you.
Since 2011, The Way Forward (formerly The Woody Foundation) has been dedicated to improving the lives of people living with paralysis. They’ve donated over $1 million to individuals, partner organizations, scholarships, and programs like:
- Wheel Scholarships for students with paralysis
- Para-athlete sponsorships, including their partnership with the Miami Marathon
- Adaptive Packs distributed for free across the United States
- And other initiatives that help people with paralysis live active, independent lives
This year, through Give Miami Day, I’m hoping to give back to the organization that has done so much for me and for so many others. My personal goal is to raise $500 to help support more para-athletes on their journeys.
No amount is too small. If you can’t donate, simply sharing the page helps more than you know. Every bit of support helps The Way Forward continue its life-changing mission.
Thank you for standing with me and for helping uplift a community that means so much to me.
