The LondonAid Project Rise Up

My name is Michael, and I’m supporting The LondonAid Project because I believe its mission answers a need Miami can no longer afford to overlook.

The CDC found that nearly 4 out of every 10 high school students experienced ongoing sadness or hopelessness. One in five seriously considered suicide, and nearly one in ten attempted it. Right here in Miami-Dade, 62% of the young people participating in the county’s Peace and Prosperity initiative were dealing with mental-health challenges.

I don’t hear those numbers and think about statistics. I think about young people sitting in our classrooms, living in our neighborhoods and smiling around their families while quietly struggling.

The LondonAid Project puts youth mental health first. Its mission is to give young people in underserved communities safe places to talk, people who will listen and resources that help them build resilience and see a future beyond what they are facing today.

That is why this organization means so much to me. I believe reaching one young person at the right moment can change the direction of their entire life.

I’m asking my friends, family and community to help me support The LondonAid Project—because our young people should never have to struggle alone.
