In my long career as a Treatment Court Judge, I experienced firsthand the pain and disruption that untreated mental illness has on families.  Individuals suffering from severe mental health issues often feel isolated and alone, and their families feel powerless to find help.  The Key Clubhouse was established 16 years ago by families who wanted community and support for their adult children with mental illness.  The Clubhouse provides a safe space for individuals to work, socialize, and create lasting friendships.  Clubhouse members, with the assistance of Clubhouse staff, enroll in school and are supported in jobs in the community.  The Clubhouse even has 40 housing units through its partnership with Carrfour Supportive Housing.  Hospitalizations for Clubhouse members have decreased by 97 percent.   This is why I am a proud member of the Key Clubhouse Board.  A contribution to the Key Clubhouse is a contribution to Hope.
