Our Story: From One Mom’s Journey to a Community Movement

Inclusive Mamas Connect was born out of a simple yet powerful belief: no mom should ever feel alone on this journey.

What began as one mom’s effort to find connection has grown into a community-driven movement that uplifts and empowers mothers and caregivers raising children with disabilities and special needs.

In 2020, during the isolation of the pandemic, our founder Krystal Giraldo created @TheInclusiveMama on Instagram to share her family’s story and the realities of raising a child with autism. What started as a small act of openness quickly struck a chord. Other moms began to connect, share, and find comfort in knowing they weren’t alone.

From those early days online, a network began to form. One rooted in understanding, compassion, and inclusion. As we connected with more families, it became clear that moms needed more than just resources: they needed community, connection, and care for themselves. 

That vision led to the creation of Autism Moms’ Night Off, a monthly event designed to give mothers a well-deserved break, a safe space to be themselves, and the reminder that they, too, deserve to feel supported and celebrated.

By 2024, this grassroots effort evolved into Inclusive Mamas Connect, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families through community support, education, and inclusion.

Our Mission:

To empower mothers and caregivers of children with disabilities and special needs by creating inclusive spaces that foster connection, provide trusted resources, and build a strong network of support.

What We Do

Community Events: We host gatherings: from Autism Moms’ Night Off to Inclusive Playdates, this offers moms and families a moment to recharge, connect, and feel seen amongst those who get it.

Resource Sharing: We collaborate with local partners to share reliable information, services, and opportunities for families navigating the special needs community.

Education & Awareness: Through Instagram Lives and expert sessions, we provide conversations, tools, and encouragement to help families thrive.

Community Partnerships: We bring together families, service providers, and businesses to strengthen inclusive networks across South Florida.

Why It Matters

Raising a child with special needs can be beautiful, but it can also be isolating, exhausting, and overwhelming. Many moms struggle to find reliable resources or time to care for themselves. Inclusive Mamas Connect exists to change that.

We’re here to remind every mom that she’s not alone and that her well-being matters just as much as her child’s. When moms are supported, families thrive, and our entire community grows stronger.
