Support the Avian & Wildlife Laboratory: Advancing Animal Health, Conservation, and Discovery
The Avian & Wildlife Laboratory at the University of Miami serves as a vital diagnostic, research, and educational resource dedicated to improving the health and welfare of wildlife, exotic animals, companion animals, and zoological species. Through cutting-edge diagnostic testing, disease surveillance, and collaborative research, the laboratory helps veterinarians, wildlife rehabilitators, zoos, aquariums, conservation organizations, and researchers better understand and protect animal populations.
Donor support through Give Miami Day would help expand the laboratory's ability to:
- Detect and monitor emerging diseases affecting wildlife, zoo animals, and endangered species.
- Develop innovative diagnostic tests that improve animal health and support conservation efforts worldwide.
- Train future veterinarians, pathologists, and scientists through hands-on research and education opportunities.
- Support wildlife conservation initiatives by providing critical laboratory services for threatened and endangered species.
- Advance comparative medicine research, generating discoveries that benefit both animal and human health.
Every sample received represents an opportunity to improve animal care, solve complex medical mysteries, and contribute to the conservation of species around the globe. Gifts of any size help fund equipment, research projects, student training opportunities, and diagnostic services that make a lasting impact on wildlife health.
From parrots and penguins to elephants and endangered species, the Avian & Wildlife Laboratory is committed to protecting animal health through science, education, and innovation.
Your support helps transform diagnostic discoveries into healthier animals and stronger conservation outcomes.
