Launching April 2027, Policy to Paycheck helps 20 South Florida adults from communities underrepresented in financial services, including minority men (and interested women) earn their Florida 2-15 Life & Health insurance license and step into a career with real earning power. Participants complete a 60-hour state-approved pre-licensing course, and we cover everything that usually stands in the way: study manuals, the state exam, fingerprinting, background check, and license application fees. What makes Policy to Paycheck different is what happens beyond the classroom. Working insurance professionals lead in-person sessions, sharing real-world skills, client stories, and what the job really looks like. The program ends with a Career Day where participants meet employers who are hiring. No college degree required. Short-Term Learning, Skilled-Up Training, to Develop YOU!

From April to July 2027, Policy to Paycheck will prepare 20 South Florida adults for licensed careers in insurance. Our goals are:

  • At least 85% (17 participants) complete the 60-hour state-approved pre-licensing course.
  • At least 70% of completers pass the Florida 2-15 state exam within 60 days, with retake support for those who need it.
  • 100% of participants attend at least 3 in-person sessions with working insurance professionals.
  • Host 1 Career Day with at least 5 hiring employers or agencies.
  • At least 50% of licensed participants receive a job offer or appointment with an agency within 90 days of licensing.

Insurance sales agents earn a median of $62,280 a year, with about 43,100 openings nationwide every year, and the job typically requires only a high school diploma and a state license. Policy to Paycheck turns 60 hours of learning into a pathway to financial stability for participants and their families.
