Deanna for Arts Education: Theatre for Every Child

Hi! It's Deanna Nicole, an actor and teaching artist with Fantasy Theatre Factory’s Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) program. I perform in touring shows across South Florida and beyond — including this season Scrooge! A Fractured Christmas Carol and The Mis-Adventures of Pinocchio — bringing live theatre to children and families all across South Florida.

When I was seven, I struggled with reading — until I started taking acting classes. Acting became the bridge that helped me connect to language, comprehension, and confidence. That’s why I’m so passionate about arts education — it’s not just creative expression, it’s cognitive development.

Just as there’s a proven correlation between learning music and becoming a stronger mathematician, theatre helps children become better readers and communicators. By engaging imagination, focus, and empathy, it strengthens skills in reading comprehension, vocabulary, and storytelling — all vital for academic success.

Fantasy Theatre Factory’s shows are both entertaining and educational, covering literacy, history, and environmental themes that make learning fun and impactful.
