After participating in the Development Series as a writer/director with my first feature project under my arm, I became part of the Board of Miami Film Lab. I was so happy with my experience meeting producers and directors that I understood immediately that Miami Film Lab could grant me access to the mentors that I so wanted to find locally, something no other event/organization in Miami could provide.
With the Development Series, Test Screenings, FilmCraft Talks, and Filmmaker Happy Hours, as well as their Fiscal Sponsorship Program, MFL really creates a productive space for networking and advancing local film projects that are constantly overlooked by larger national grant-making bodies.
The goal of Miami Film Lab is to realize the projects of emerging and established local artists, and in little over 2 years, MFL has already accomplished so much!
