Sandra L. Jackson Scholarship

The W.I.S.H. Foundation, Incorporated, was incorporated on June 2, 1988. The acronym stands for Women Involved in Service to Humanity. The membership of the Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is comprised of all active members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Gamma Zeta Omega Chapter. The Foundation is the Chapter's vehicle to provide various educational and social services to the residents of Miami-Dade County.

The Foundation was organized to stimulate intellectual and educational advancements of the members of our diverse community. This includes developing educational programs that will facilitate economic empowerment.

In memory of my dearly loved nephew, Horace M. Jackson, III, the Sandra L. Jackson Scholarship was created in 2020. This is a one-time $1,000 stipend to a graduating high school senior enrolled in a college/university for tuition and/or related expenses. The donation benefits the scholarships of The W.I.S.H. Foundation, Inc. in collaboration with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Gamma Zeta Omega Chapter. 

As of today, six students have been awarded. The 2020 recipient, Brenay Jackson, graduated from Florida Atlantic University with both a Bachelors and Master's in Social Work. The 2021 recipient, Jordan Bryant, graduate from the University of Florida. The 2022 recipient, Tiara Johnson, is a senior at Florida A&M University majoring in Business Administration. The 2023 recipient, Saniya Bethune, is a junior at Florida A&M University majoring in Allied Health Science/Communication. The 2024 recipient, Gwendolyn Thomas, is a sophomore at Talladega College. Lastly, the 2025 recipient, Lyiah Burke, is a freshman at Florida A&M University.

Your generous donation will provide financial relief for graduating high school seniors who want to attend a college or university to learn and achieve their dreams.
