Hi! My name is Nicolas Franco, and I’m a 9th grader at Christopher Columbus High School. If you met me, you'd probably see just another student juggling homework, friends, and figuring out life—just like everyone else. But there’s a little extra twist to my story: I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth due to a stroke in utero.
Sounds intense, right? Well, here’s the cool part—I’ve never let it slow me down. With the help of my amazing parents and some serious determination, I’ve been working hard all my life, doing physical therapy and occupational therapy to keep pushing forward. Some days are challenging, but honestly, I consider my journey a superpower rather than a setback.
And now, it’s my turn to give back.
I’m launching a fundraiser to support United Community Options of Miami (formerly United Cerebral Palsy Association of Miami), a nonprofit that helps kids and adults with disabilities live their best lives. They provide incredible programs that encourage independence, inclusion, and community engagement—things that have shaped my own journey.
This is where YOU come in!
Whether it’s through a small donation, spreading the word, or simply learning more about cerebral palsy and the people it affects, every bit of support makes a difference. Imagine a world where everyone gets the resources they need to thrive—where every challenge turns into an opportunity, just like it has for me.
So, let’s make it happen! Join me in making a real impact. Together, we can help more kids and families turn obstacles into victories.
