Hello my name is Pablo Rodriguez and I believe A Zero Waste Culture has brought awareness to food waste across Key Biscayne and has provided a very sustainable alternative for its citizens.
As a volunteer, my job is to welcome composters, weigh and empty their buckets. Food waste is then hauled to the composting site where we mix it with mulch and turn it for 3 or 4 months to become nutrient rich soil. We then sift it and give it out to compost members.
A Zero Waste Culture has helped me become aware of the issue surrounding our planet regarding food waste and has prompted me to make this cause known to the people of Key Biscayne and for action to be taken in order to live in a sustainable world.
