Hello, my name is Katherine Magnoli! I am a forty year old woman who lives her life with the vantage point of a wheelchair. This unique perspective has allowed me to go through life with a resilience and courage that is all my own. This experience has taught me to share my life’s view with others in hopes of creating a more inclusive world for all.

Over the last sixteen years, I have dedicated my life to advocate for the inclusion for ALL children. I have been able to do this in a number of ways, including system change alongside political figures and partnering with different organizations.

My favorite contribution as an advocate would have to be the books I have written and published for children to help them learn valuable lessons of acceptance for both themselves and others. I do this by highlighting characters with both physical disabilities and attributes that many may see as different or less than.

My stories and the characters within them change this perspective by showing that our differences are what make us unique and special. I do this by showing each character use their supposed “weakness “ as their strengths. An example of this would be KatGirl using her wheelchair as her superpower and fly to those in need of help and a dose of self confidence.

Currently , KatGirl and Friends is working on a project that wil expand their mission of educating about inclusion through literature for kids by giving the children we serve a chance to tell their own stories in a project called Imagine That! Stories from Different Walks of Life. This book project will highlight twelve children with various disabilities and how they navigate their day to day.

With that said, each donation will help reach more and more kids, ensuring that all kids feel seen, represented, and included!
