The City of Miami has transfered 2 City lots in Liberty City for the next 50+ years. The objective is to maintain a community garden/urban farm resource in the Community.
UGW's goal has always been to create projects that focus on increasing community food security while reducing food waste.
We continue to strive towards creating community-based vs. community-situated projects, that are inclusive for all residents of Miami-Dade County.
This funding will go towards the purchase of a City lot to support activities at Cerasee Farm i.e., establish a plant-based kitchen, start aquaculture program, on-site walk-in cooler for example.
We encourage volunteers (groups and individuals) to sign up online (www.urbangreenworks.org) and to come experience Cerasee Farm.
