Dear Friends, Family and Neighbors,

Please join me in supporting Friends of the Commodore Trail's "Safe Route to Schools" initiative.

My family uses the Trail every day and we love to see you, our neighbors (and your kids and dogs), along the trail.  Our daughters, Maggie and Ginger, still sometimes walk to school on the Trail, and just as when I started this advocacy work 6 years ago, I want to make the trail safer and nicer for all children and others who uses it.

But the condition of the Trail today has many problems that we want to fix including blind corners, lack of tree canopy, potholes, obstructions, flooding, lack of safe crosswalks, and confusing usage.

Thanks to Friends of the Commodore Trail's advocacy, exciting progress is happening toward implementing plans for major Trail improvements over the next 5 years.

The first wave of Trail upgrades will focus on creating a safe route to schools.

These improvements will improve the safety and experience of our children who can bide and walk to the 10 schools (!) along Main Highway. Imagine less cars on the road and our children enjoying the independence and exercise from biking and walking to school.

If you care about improving our urban trail and micromibility, let's support the Friends' efforts!!

Your Friend,

Mary
