Since 2021, the Miami Hub has given me a community of passionate young friends and colleagues who believe in Miami's amazing potential as a city that cares and works for its people.
Global Shapers Miami is a platform of diverse leaders mobilizing their collective human capital to address local challenges and issues. GSM accomplishes this by collaborating with community partners to design sustainable solutions and achieve measurable outcomes. Our current focus is directly addressing affordability by buying Miamians medical debt and forgiving it entirely.
I have personally faced the overwhelming anxiety of receiving a medical bill I could not afford, for an MRI after a car crash, while insured. I was lucky to have parents who could help me pay it off, but over 100,000 Miamians do not.
