This year, more than ever, our students need your support. Nearly 90% of Albizu University students rely on financial aid to pursue their dream of becoming professionals in psychology, mental health, speech-language pathology, and education. However, recent policy changes and cuts to critical programs mean many can no longer count on the support they once had. Without additional scholarships, some students, many from historically underserved backgrounds, may be forced to pause or abandon their dream of becoming mental health professionals.

Nearly 1,000 students are currently enrolled at Albizu University’s Miami Campus, pursuing undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in psychology, mental health, speech-language pathology, and education.

With an 85 % persistence rate, our students continue their journey despite financial barriers — proof of their determination to serve South Florida’s communities.

Together, these students represent the future of South Florida’s mental-health workforce: resilient, bilingual, and deeply committed to serving their communities.

Financial aid isn’t just helpful—it’s essential. For many of our students, a scholarship is the difference between completing their degree or leaving their education unfinished. These future psychologists, counselors, educators, and speech-language pathologists are eager to serve their community, but they cannot get there without your support today.

South Florida is already facing a shortage of providers: there is only one mental health professional for every 498 residents (Thriveworks, 2023). If we lose students to financial hardship now, we risk deepening that shortage tomorrow. Every scholarship you provide keeps a student on the path to graduation, and keeps Miami on track to having more trained, compassionate providers.

Students Are Already Serving

Albizu students don’t just prepare for their careers in the classroom. They work directly in Albizu's community clinic, helping children, families, and adults who might otherwise go without care. Under faculty supervision, they provide therapy, assessments, and outreach through programs that serve Miami-Dade's most vulnerable populations.
